Over $50,000 UP FOR GRABS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELASE:

July 22, 2002 - It’s been a long winter awaiting the 2nd Annual NBIS Pro Stockb

The 250 event will remain a one day event and be held on Sunday  September 1st.   The 250 will again be an invitational event that will showcase the NBIS CARQUEST Pro Stocks against the best of the Eastern Canada and the New  England. It will include a full day of qualifying capped off by the 2nd Annual Pro Stock 250 Sunday evening.

The event will feature a major purse that will see the winner take home a possible $17,000 first prize, with a total purse of over $50,000.  Other contingency awards and prizes to be released in the near future.

This event will be the largest summer sporting event in Atlantic Canada!!!

NBIS will also be selling laps to increase the award package and provide fans and local companies with an opportunity to give something back to the teams.  Each lap for the 250 will be sold for $25 dollars and the drivers will receive $25 for each lap they lead.

There are many awards still available for sponsorship such as the Most laps led Award and the Hard Charger awards which will be in addition to the posted purse.

"The one day format for Pro Stocks seems to work the best for everybody, it cuts down on travel expenses in addition to allowing people to make the decision as to how much racing they want to attend all in one day. If you want to catch all the qualifying you can do that at 2:00pm but it you want only to attend the main event then it's 7:00pm for you" states NBIS co-owner Chris Johnston.

The qualifying format will also be of interest to those who love to see racing.  It will include extended lap heat races as well as consi's and a last chance race.....commonly tagged a "Hooligan's" race!!!!

The 250 will again be an event like no other, with hospitality tents, clowns and magicians for the kids, corporate displays, and.......oh yeh 250 laps of pure Pro Stock POWER!!!
