Division - 2005 RULES AND REGULATIONS

ENDURO CAR RULES:
1. Open to any make of rear wheel drive
automobile with a wheel base of 108" or more as factory
listed for that year/model. Convertibles or station wagons will not be allowed.
Any suspected chassis modification (cutting coils) and engine modification
will be disallowed from competition. (NO question).
2. BODY AND APPEARANCE Body must be stock appearing and in stock
position on frame. All chrome moldings, ornaments, door handles, glass, tail-lights, headlights or plastic components must be removed, except grille and
windshield. All doors must be welded or bolted. Original wheel arches must
be retained. Sun roofs must be removed and replaced with metal. Appearance of race cars participating in racing event must be
presentable in appearance. Cars that are considered improperly prepared
may be rejected by the tech committee.
3. BUMPERS Stock bumpers originally installed on that year/model of car only
in stock position.
4. CHASSIS & SUSPENSION All suspension parts are to be stock with no
modifying.
5. ENGINE AND DRIVELINE Any transmission or engine may be used for that
make of car. Only one stock carburetor permitted on engine. Transmission
oil coolers are allowed but NOT in the drivers cab. Oil coolers MUST be
mounted ahead of firewall.
6. EXHAUST SYSTEM Stock type mufflers mandatory. Exhaust pipe must
exit behind driver and in front of rear wheel well. No headers.
7. FENDER SPLASH PANS Front inner fenders may be removed or trimmed,
front rod cradle must be retained.
8. FIREWALLS All holes in firewall must be filled. All holes in the rear firewall MUST be filled as
well. (ie No holes from trunk into passenger area)
9. FUEL PUMP Stock mechanical pump only.
Absolutely no electric fuel pumps permitted.
10. FUEL LINES must be
steel except for last 6 inches at fuel tank and at fuel pump which can be rubber
11. FLOOR All holes in floor must be covered.
12. GAS TANK Gas tank is to be securely mounted in the truck compartment
behind rear firewall, forward, as near as possible to the rear axle housing
hump. And totally concealed from the driver.
13. BATTERY must e mounted inside drivers
compartment at right front passenger area. Must be securely fasten and
covered with a non-condiuctive material (ie plastic etc).
14. GRILLE Grills must be full stock production for the body used.
15. HOOD Full stock hood and bracing must be retained. Must
have quick hold-down
release pins. MUST HAVE ORIGINAL HINGES
16. TRUNK Full stock and bracing must be retained. Must
have quick hold-down release pins. MUST HAVE
ORIGINAL HINGES
17. INTERIOR All interior of car that is flammable (plastic & fabric) must be
removed, except for drivers seat. All metal inner quarter panels must be
retained. Excessive torching of interior will not be allowed.
18. LETTERING Please register numbers by calling (506) 454-RACE. First
come first serve. Numbers must be on both front doors and must be 22
inches high and at least 4 inches wide.
19. RADIATORS Larger rads permissible only if they fit in stock rad cradle. NO COOLANT, must run water ONLY
20. MIRRORS Inside optional, no exterior mirrors.
21. ROLL CAGE
Roll cage is to consist of the following : Four upright pipes at corners of
cage. Front uprights are to be angled rearward to meet "halo" at top of cage
near top of windshield. This will form the main perimeter of the cage. Drivers
side of cage is to consist of a minimum of three parallel bars joining the
upright pipes. These bars are to be secured by several upright pipes welded
between the parallel bars. They are to be placed a minimum of 12" apart. The
inner door panel may be removed and the piping moved out slightly into door to
give more clearance between driver and left side of cage. It is recommended
that an 1/8" steel plate be welded to the drivers side bars to fill in and
strengthen cage. There is to be a bar joining the front uprights from side to
side at dash height. The passenger side of the cage is to consist of one
parallel and one diagonal bar between the front and rear uprights. Rear of the
cage is to consist of an "X" brace as well as a bar connecting the bottom of
the uprights for lateral cage strength. There are two bars that will be allowed
to join the rear cage uprights and run back to the front of the frame kickup at
rear. All welds are to be secure. Gussets where necessary are recommended.
Closely following the attached drawing will assist in accurate construction of
this cage assembly.
22. SAFETY EQUIPMENT Safety belts, shoulder harness and helmets are
mandatory. Cars must have at least TWO shoulder belts criss-crossed, preferably a 4-point
harness.
MUST HAVE A WORKING (CHARGED) FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!
NEW for 2004: Fire extinguisher must be
minimum of 2lbs
MUST HAVE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW NET. (these can be purchased used from
other NBIS competitors)
23. SEATS Bucket seat MUST be used. On fold-down type seats the back must
be securely anchored to prevent pitching forward.
24. TIRES All tires must be radial D.O.T. approved for street use. Maximum tire
sizes for all entries excluding models of cars listed below is 225/75x15. Four
door full size Cadillacs, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Chryslers Lincoln, Mercurys are
allowed up to P235/70x15. 14" and 15" in diameter sizes may not be
intermixed. Only one tire size difference allowed from side to side or front to
rear. All tires are subject to approval of official in charge. No 60 or 65 series
tires.
25. WHEELS Stock passenger steel wheels only, maximum width of 7"
measured from bead seat to bead seat will be allowed. All wheels must be
either 14" or 15" diameter no intermixing of wheel sizes permitted. No chrome
Rev. or mag wheels allowed.
ENDURO TRUCK RULES:
1.
Chev S-10, Ford Ranger, and Dodge Dakota. 2WD models only.

presentable in appearance. Trucks that are considered improperly prepared

marine fuel tank. Gas tank is to be securely mounted to two cross rails
that are to be welded between the frame rails above rear axle. Rails must
be minimum 1.0 inch angle iron. This should position tank center between
wheels wells in box. Tank is NOT to be bolted only to BOX. Steel
fuel line must run from engine (fuel pump) under cab to to enter through hole in
floor of box. Steel line must have rubber grommet where line goes through
box floor.
13. BATTERY must be mounted inside drivers
cab at right front passenger area. Must be securely fastened and

to join the rear cage uprights and run back to the front of the frame kickup at
rear (out though back window down to frame). All welds are to be secure. Gussets where necessary are recommended.

THE RULES OF THE RACE
NOTE: NBIS DRIVERS and STAFF will be not permitted to compete in
Enduro races. The Enduro class will be an entry level class .
1. Each driver will draw for his starting position.
2. The race will be started with two cars abreast with no maximum on the
starting field.
3. Cars must hold their position until green flag is displayed.
4. Yellow flag will not be used. If there are cars with breakdowns or cars in
accidents, the other cars must avoid them while continuing the race.
5. The red flag will be displayed if the track is blocked and racing can not
continue. All cars must stop. The race will be restarted with the cars in the
same position as before the red flag. Any accident car that can continue will
be place at the back.
6. Cars will be allowed to enter the pits for repair and re-enter the racing surface
only when official indicates it is safe to do so.
7. The starter will indicate with rolled and crossed flags the midpoint of the race.
The white flag will indicate the leader is on his last lap.
8. Each entry must have two scorers. A special area will be reserved for the
scorers in the stands where they will follow the instructions of the head
scorer.
9. If a car has blown a tire and/or leaking fluid they must make their way off the
asphalt immediately to avoid damage to the track. Failure to comply will result
in a severe fine and possible disqualification from any future Enduro races.
10. You must hold a valid Provincial/State license to enter the race.
11. This race format is tentative and could change.
12. Payout will be $500 for 1st , $425 for 2nd, $350 for 3rd,
$275 for 4th, and $200 for 5th
13. Registration for each car will be $25, which includes driver
admission.
